Grammy Award-winning soprano Renée Fleming, left, brings drama to Island audiences when she performs with the Honolulu Symphony as part the Halekulani MasterWorks series of classical concerts. The opera singer, acclaimed as one of the world's greatest voices, also is an advocate of new music and literacy. Tickets are $15-$68; discounts available for seniors, students and military.

Rubber duckie, will you be the one? The one that will win a prize at the 19th annual Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race? Anyone can adopt a $5 duckie, which will race down the Ala Wai Canal in the fundraiser for the United Cerebral Palsy Association. Pre-race activities (kids games, entertainment, a duckie store) take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the McCully Shopping Center. At 12:45 p.m. the duck parade proceeds from the shopping center to the Kalakaua Avenue Bridge, where the race begins at 1:44 p.m.

DANCE: MARCH 25-26
Take a bite out of the Big Apple right here in Honolulu when the New York City dance studio Broadway Dance Center brings hip-hop and jazz choreographers over for a workshop called The Pulse. Brian Friedman, Mia Michaels, Gil Duldulao and Cris Judd will be in town to teach budding dancers to move and groove during the two-day session, which features classes, an autograph session, vendors, a faculty show, performance and freestyle competition. Admission is $150 each day, or $250 for both days.

Remember the Diamond Head crater festivals of the '70s? Well, an updated version is back as the Diamond Head Crater Celebration. Performers include the Steve Miller Band, War, Linda Ronstadt, above, and Hawai'i's own Yvonne Elliman, Na Leo with the Honolulu Symphony, Kenny Endo's Taiko Center of the Pacific and Sonny Ching and his Halau Na Mamo O Pu'uanahulu. Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Michael Bolton, above, makes his Hawai'i debut next month.
