A 47-year-old Florida man was sentenced to 90 days in jail and fined $2,000 yesterday for selling fake National Football League T-shirts in the parking lot of Aloha Stadium at the 2005 Pro Bowl.

Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario also placed Glenn Marziotto on five years' probation.

The judge fined Marziotto's co-defendants — Brendan Schiff, 36, and Melissa Lieberman, 30, both of California — $2,000 each and placed them on five years' probation.

The three pleaded guilty last year to trademark infringement charges involving the sales in the parking lot Feb. 13 last year.

According to prosecutors, Marziotto has a criminal history that includes a federal conviction resulting from selling counterfeit goods at Shea Stadium in 1986 when the New York Mets won the World Series.

"We are very pleased with today's sentences," Brian McCarthy, NFL Director of Communications said in an written statement. "These sentences send a stern message to those who illegally attempt to capitalize on the passion of Pro Bowl fans that such crimes will not be tolerated by the State of Hawai'i.
