Chill with Cantoma at thirtyninehotel

If you're a fan of the superchill series of Café del Mar CDs, those compilations of Balearic bliss beats, don't miss Phil Mison, who takes the turntables Saturday at thirtyninehotel. Mison, as Cantoma, released his first CD, "Cantoma," last fall, and was resident DJ at the legendary club Café del Mar on the island of Ibiza for two years.
When it comes to DJ locales, "anywhere with a beach and hot weather kind of makes a bit more sense than cold and raining in some crappy bar somewhere. The music really doesn't sound the same," the British Mison told the webzine High Frequency. Honolulu fits the bill.
At thirtyninehotel, expect his trademark sexy seamless polyglot mixes of everything from '60s bossa-nova to reggae-accented bass lines. He joins thirtyninehotel partner DJ Harvey for the night.
