The Fifth International Conference on Globalisation for the Common Good will look at peace and justice issues of Asia and the Pacific.

Speakers and scholars from Australia, Indonesia, England, Japan, the Middle East and the United States are here for the conference, which in years past has been held in such far-flung areas as Dubai, Kenya, Oxford and St. Petersburg.

The conference founder is Kamran Mofid, a frequent speaker at major international conferences worldwide whose writings have appeared in leading scholarly journals, popular magazines and newspapers. Among his books are "Globalisation for the Common Good" and "Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility and Globalisation for the Common Good."

Other notable speakers include Michael Lerner, publisher of Tikkun, a magazine devoted to Jewish culture and politics; and the Rev. Peter Milward, a Jesuit priest who has taught in Japan at Sophia University since 1962 and has published many books on English literature including "An Introduction to Shakespeare's Plays."
