Punk quintet D.I. from Fullerton, Calif., is ready to rock out at two all-ages shows planned over one raucous weekend. Fronted by The Adolescents' Casey Royer, the band has seven albums to its credit, with an eighth expected later this year. Guest rockers at the first show will be announced later, but performing at the second show are Extra Stout, The Quintessentials, The Substitoots and Channer. Tickets are $8 advance and $10 at the door.

It's big, it's bad and it's back: Bomb Bucha returns to heat up the season with headliner Maxi Priest, left. Also on the bill will be Three Plus, O-Shen, Go Jimmy Go and Sashamon. And there's also A Twist of Marley — local artists performing Bob Marley songs. Hip-hop emcee Talib Kweli returns for a concert, courtesy of Dig Lifestyles and Echelon Entertainment. A widely respected rapper, the Brooklyn native's critically acclaimed albums include "Right About Now," "The Beautiful Struggle" and "Quality." Tickets are $32 advance and $40 at the door for this 18-and-older concert.

Barefoot Natives — that's Eric Gilliom, left, and Willie K — kick off their shoes and embark on a tour of four islands, including O'ahu. They're celebrating their self-titled debut CD with five concerts in Hawai'i, followed by an eight-day, eight-city tour on the West Coast. Tickets for the O'ahu show are $28 in advance and $35 on the day of the show. Doors open at 8 p.m.

It's a weekend of local and international halau dancing in traditional and contemporary styles at the 33rd annual King Kamehameha Hula Competition. Nineteen halau from California, Japan, Hawai'i, Maui and O'ahu will compete in the male groups, female groups and combined groups divisions. Tickets are $8.50, $10, $12 and $20.

Gather up those good vibrations for the legendary rock 'n' roll group The Beach Boys, led by original members, from left, Bruce Johnston and Mike Love, which headlines a benefit concert for the Polynesian Voyaging Society. The event celebrates the Hokule'a's 30 years of voyaging with a musical tribute by Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, Lehua Heine, Ken Makuakane and Kaleo Trinidad. The early bookworms get the deals at the 59th annual Friends of the Library of Hawaii Booksale, left.
