TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"House," 7 and 8 p.m., Fox. This brilliant show is at its best when Dr. House is pushed to the edge and pushed into an ethical crisis. Tonight's first rerun does some of that. In the midst of a tough case — a 15-year-old model has collapsed on the runway — comes while the pain in his leg is so strong that his Vicodin addiction isn't enough. But it's the second one that takes this to an extreme: A heart transplant is needed quickly — but the only possible one is too iffy to be used. House's proposal: Keep the person artificially alive long enough to cure one ailment then harvest the heart for the transplant. This defies all medical ethics. It fulfills human ethics — except that we never know if he's driven by passion for the patient or by his own ego. This is great TV drama.

"Eureka," 6 p.m., Sci Fi Channel. Last week's opening movie set up what could be a terrific series. We learned that the angry teenager (played by Jordan Hinson) being transported by a tough U.S. marshal (Colin Ferguson) is his teen daughter. They had accidentally reached a semi-secret town created after World War II to gather scientific minds. Now it has morphed into an odd place one in which — intentionally or not — time and space can occasionally be breached. But it still needs regular-type people, including a police chief. The marshal has reluctantly taken the job — and his daughter was not pleased. Now we'll see if "Eureka" can match its great start. In tonight's episode, the sheriff encounters someone he thought was dead.

"Enemy of the State" (1998), 4 p.m., FX. Will Smith plays a lawyer who accidentally has a tape of a murder. Now higher-ups chase him in a film that "24" fans will probably enjoy. Former Cosby kid Lisa Bonet makes a rare appearance.

"Fear Factor," 7 p.m., NBC. There's a fire theme tonight, starting with people trying to blast contestants who are suspended from helicopters.

"According to Jim," 7 p.m., ABC. Jim and Andy try to take Dana to a great bachelorette party. The problem is that they forget where they left her.

"Rescue Me," 7 p.m., FX. Janet continues to turn up the heat with Tommy, despite her attachment to his brother; meanwhile Mike "the Probie" saves some lives and Lou turns over a new leaf.

"The George Lopez Show," 7:30 p.m., ABC. In a fairly daft twist, Carmen simply refuses to accept the fact that her boyfriend has broken up with her.

"The One: Making a Music Star," 8 p.m., ABC. The 10 remaining singers perform.

"Last Comic Standing," 8 p.m., NBC. Last week, the five finalists performed and viewers voted. Tonight, we learn which one has been eliminated; then the other four perform.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Warner, the medical examiner, visits a family to give some news — and discovers an abducted girl.
