HALEAKALA FRIENDS — The Friends of Haleakala National Park have scheduled two services trips, July 29-30 in Kipahulu and Aug. 9-12 in the Crater, to plant native plants or remove invasive species, with time left to relax and explore. POUHALA MARSH RESTORATION — The Hawai'i Nature Center is restoring Pouhala Marsh in Waipahu. Volunteers are needed to pull pickleweed and mangrove, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Bring work gloves, water, hat, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes; covered footwear and long pants required. ALOHA 'AINA EARTH DAY — A recycling and community cleanup project, also a fundraiser for Waialua Complex schools, will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
