ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Hello Yellow
Advertiser Staff and News Services
Yellowman, Yellowman, wherefore art thou, Yellowman? Deny thy dancehall, and refuse thy loathing of multiple requests for "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng." Or if thou wilt not be, be but sworn my risen-from-the-dregs-of-Jamaican-poverty superstar.
And I'll no longer listen to Shaggy or Sean Paul. Honest.
The pioneering 50-year-old rude-boy of dancehall returns to Honolulu tonight with his Saggittarius Band for a gig at the Pipeline Cafe. He'll go on stage sometime between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. It'll cost you $20 pre-sale and $25 door to get in. 589-1999.

WRITTEN IN STONE: KAILI CHUN TALKS ABOUT HER ART
The highlight of the Honolulu Academy of Arts' "Artists of Hawaii 2006" show is Kaili Chun's installation "Nau Ka Wae (The Choice Belongs to You)."
The interactive work invites viewers to pull wood plugs out of polished stones affixed to the wall. In each hole is an image of someone from Hawai'i's history. On each plug is a related word or phrase. Former Gov. John Burns' plug reads "friend."
Chun talks about her work at 5 p.m. today at the Doris Duke Theatre. The lecture is free.

FINAL WORD
"I don't collect art! Don't got the clams! We do have quite a display from an emerging artist — my son — at home."
