State ID applications to be taken in Kahuku

Residents can apply for a state identification card at Kahuku High School from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 22. The cost is $10 for senior citizens 65 years and older, and $15 for others, payable in cash only.

Applicants must have certified documents to apply, and those with completed applications and proper documentation will receive first priority.

New applicants must provide proof of legal name such as a certified copy of their birth certificate, a resident alien card, or a valid U.S. passport.

Also required is either a Social Security card, a Social Security health insurance card with an "A" designation after the number, or a valid or expired Hawai'i driver's license with a Social Security number.

Legal and certified documents proving any changes in status or name due to marriage, divorce, annulment, adoption or citizenship also must be presented. Copied or altered documents will not be accepted.

State ID cards will be processed and mailed out within five to 10 working days.

Upcoming ID processing events in the community will be Aug. 26 at Kalani High School, 4680 Kalaniana'ole Highway; Sept. 30 at Mililani High School, 95-1200 Meheula Parkway; and Oct. 14 at Lanai Community Center, Dole Park 8th St.
