A service for longtime Honolulu Advertiser sports writer Ferd Borsch will be Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, 1701 Wilder Ave.

Visitation will be 9 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 9:30 a.m. Family requests aloha attire and no flowers.

Borsch, 77, the Advertiser's baseball writer for 40 years, died June 25, 2006. He is survived by wife, Patricia "Patti"; sons, Timothy, Christopher and Brian; daughter, Lisa; and brothers, William and Joseph.

Arrangements are by Nu'uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary.
