Ai Miyazato, the Japanese star who won the LPGA's Final Qualifying Tournament by the largest margin in 30 years, has committed to play in the inaugural Fields Open in Hawai'i, Feb. 23 to 25, at Ko Olina Golf Club.
Miyazato also is expected to play in the $1 million SBS Open at Turtle Bay, the LPGA's first full-field event, Feb. 16 to 18, at the Palmer Course. Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer also are expected in that field.
Hawai'i 16-year-old Michelle Wie finished second to Jennifer Rosales at Turtle Bay last year, along with Cristie Kerr. Wie has not yet committed to the 2006 tournament. She has committed to the $1.1 million Fields Open.
Miyazato, 20, won the LPGA's Qualifying tournament by 12 shots, earning her LPGA Tour card for 2006. She has 12 career victories on the JLPGA Tour.
