BOYD SCHNEIDER, has been named manager of the new Wal-Mart in Pearl City. A former manager of Wal-Mart stores in Lihu'e and Hilo, Schneider began his Wal-Mart career in 1993 as a part-time sales associate in Eagan, Minn, and has worked his way through the positions of support manager, assistant manager, co-manager and manager.
After a quarter of a century, small-business advocate and lobbyist BETTE TATUM is stepping down as Hawai'i state director of the National Federation of Independent Business. Taking over as head of the local chapter of the small-business advocacy group will be attorney and lobbyist MELISSA PAVLICEK.
Lloyd Fujie, longtime managing partner in the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, has been named vice president and chief financial officer for Hawai'i Pacific University.
PAULETTE WAGE has been hired as human resources manager for McDonald's Hawaii region, overseeing the over 3,500 employees in 84 restaurants in Hawai'i, Guam and Saipan. Wage has over a decade of human-resources experience and holds a senior professional in human resources designation. Before joining McDonald's, she was human resources business unit manager at Hawaiian Telcom, and before that, people consultant at First Insurance Co. of Hawai'i Ltd.
NOLAN KAWANO has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Island Insurance Companies. Previously vice president and CFO, he continues to be responsible for financial policies, practices and internal controls of the state's largest locally owned and managed property and casualty insurance carrier. He now also heads the firm's re-insurance division and the call center's billing and cashier functions.
ALICE DEPPE has been named manager of imaging services for Kuakini Health System. The 25-year veteran of healthcare and management will oversee Kuakini's radiology, computer tomography, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging services. She also will manage Plaza Imaging, a diagnostic imaging facility on the first floor of Kuakini Medical Plaza.
