Composer-writer to lecture April 9

Composer and writer David Haas will give a free lecture/concert, "Blest Are They," at 4 p.m. April 9 as part of The Mackey Marianist Lecture Series.
There will also be a "Music and Spirit" workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 8.
Both take place at Mystical Rose Oratory (Chapel) on the campus of Saint Louis School and Chaminade University, 3140 Wai'alae Ave., Kaimuki.
Haas, who has produced more than 30 original collections of songs, is active as a conference and workshop speaker, retreat leader, author, cantor, concert performer and recording artist. He has traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, the British Isles, Australia, the Bahamas and Israel and is founder and director of a national liturgical music formation program for high school and college students, Music Ministry Alive!
The cost of the workshop is $10 ($15 at the door), including light refreshments. Vegetarian and nonvegetarian box lunches will be provided at no extra cost for those who register by April 3.

BUDDHIST EXHIBIT SET FOR APRIL 7-9
A Buddhist artifact exhibit based on the Heart Shrine Sacred Relic Tour is scheduled for April 7-9 in the Hawai'i Convention Center's meeting rooms No. 318 A&B.
Hours of the free exhibit are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 7-8 and until 8 p.m. April 9.

'SPACE FOR GOD' AUTHOR TO SPEAK
Don Postema, author of "Space for God," will be featured in the annual Phifer Memorial Lecture Series for 2006, "Making Space for God During Lent."
All lectures are free and will be held at First Presbyterian Church's Hale 'Ohana, 1822 Ke'eaumoku St.
