WHEE, THE PEOPLE: Cinderella Liao (real name, Cindy Liao), an opera singer and model from Taipei, has been here on R and R after performing with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra in Taipei. Her parents are Ruby Hou (a renowned oil painter, who has been commissioned to do artwork for the luxe Hokua condo, on Ala Moana) and Dr. Kerming Chang of Honolulu. Cinderella and her parents took in a performance by singer Shari Lynn and keyboarder Don Conover at Li May Tang's Shanghai Bistro last Friday, along with Lenny Klompus (who co-starred with Lynn in Army Community Theatre's "Guys and Dolls") and Klompus' boss, Gov. Chef D.K. Kodama (Sansei, d.k. Steak House) is back from his Super Bowl sojourn in Detroit and a side trip to New York to scout the hot dining spots. "Real sleek" is how he describes new hot spot, Morimoto, where Iron Chef himself, Masaharu Morimoto, was behind the omikase bar. Kodama left with autographed menus. He also checked out Mario Batali's new Del Pesto and said it is "incredible, huge, and we only got in 'cause we went real early." But for the record, the best meal during his travels was in Detroit, at Tribute, of which he raved, "very high-end, beautiful food, beautiful restaurant, beautiful ingredients." ...

Speaking of "Lost": Seems ABC hopes to kick off Season 3 with a Sunset on the Beach screening this fall — minus last season's rain. Reps have contacted O'ahu film commissioner Walea Constantineau about that possibility. ...

NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson enjoyed sushi at Sansei at the Marriott Waikiki, and Michelle Rodriguez of "Lost" checked out d.k. Steak House next door. Also at d.k.'s: ESPN's Sean Salisbury, John Elway (retired Broncos QB) and Bradlee Van Pelt (back-up Broncos QB). ...

Compadres at Ward Centre had quite a Pro Bowl mixer last week, hosted by restaurant owner Rick Enos and new g.m. Jim Wagner. Enos' college roommate, Bob Lamone, now a pro agent, attended the shindig with Carolina Panthers head coach and client John Fox.
