Amid all the offensive struggles in yesterday's Pro Bowl a couple of spectacular pass plays were turned in by both teams.

The AFC scored first when Indianapolis' Peyton Manning threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Miami receiver Chris Chambers, who was "forced out" on the right side of the end zone, according to officials.

Chambers outjumped Atlanta cornerback DeAngelo Hall near the sideline.

"I told Chris Chambers you got a free gift, happy birthday. He owes me one now," Hall said. "It was no force out, he just didn't get his feet in."

In the second quarter, Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick was about to be dragged down by AFC defensive tackle Marcus Stroud (Cincinnati), but he managed to get off a heave in the direction of Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald came back for the underthrown ball and jumped over Cincinnati cornerback Deltha O'Neal to make the 32-yard reception.

"Michael was just throwing it up and I was just trying to make a play. That's all," Fitzgerald said. "I couldn't tell what was going on back there (in the pocket), I couldn't see."

The play set up a 32-yard field goal by Arizona's Neil Rackers to make it 7-3 with 7:45 left before halftime.

"It was a little sloppy at times, but (the game had) some of the most exciting plays I've seen all year. The one pass from Michael Vick to Larry Fitzgerald was crazy," said Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.

SMILING SEAHAWKS

The Seattle Seahawks had an NFC-high seven players in the game.

They were coming off a 21-10 loss to Pittsburgh in last week's Super Bowl, but will leave Hawai'i in a happy mood, said Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck.

Being here all week and winning yesterday must have helped.

"Coach (John) Fox said by the end of the week, we'll put a smile on your face ... all the Seattle guys were smiling," Hasselbeck said.

INSTANT REPLAY?

Atlanta cornerback DeAngelo Hall felt there were a couple of questionable calls, including a touchdown pass against him in the first quarter.

"I was telling the refs, we might need instant replay in the Pro Bowl because they let some of them go. Had it been a real game, you would have seen a whole lot more commotion. But this is all for fun," he said.

CLASS OF 2006

Warren Moon (QB, Houston Oilers), Troy Aikman (QB, Dallas Cowboys), Rayfield Wright (offensive lineman, Dallas Cowboys), the late Reggie White (defensive lineman, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Carolina), Harry Carson (linebacker, New York Giants), John Madden (head coach, Oakland Raiders, not present) were honored as 2006 Hall of Fame inductees before the game. Reggie White's widow, Sara White, attended.

LOCAL CHAMPIONS

Iolani School football coach Wendell Look was honored as NFL Pro Bowl Coach of the Year during a pregame ceremony.

Look led the Raiders to this past season's HHSAA Division II championship, their first-ever state football title.

Iolani and Division I champion Kahuku High School were honored during the ceremony.

Mike Hirokawa and Kiran Kepo'o represented Iolani, and Kaulin Krebs and Malosi Te'o were present for Kahuku.

MORE HONORS

Kurt Clodius was honored as the NFL Teacher of the Year before the game.

He was an English teacher and assistant football coach of Kansas City quarterback Trent Green at Vianney High in St. Louis in the late 1980s.

Michelle Stone was honored as Fan of the Year, and retired Aloha Stadium manager Eddie Hayashi was honored by the NFL for his service.
