Two nationally known public policy experts, Alan Curtis and Jeff Faux, will speak on global and national economic trends and their effect on Hawai'i — and what can be done to improve and maintain the state's standard of living — in a presentation Thursday. The free discussion, "FACING HAWAI'I'S FUTURE: A GATHERING FOR THE COMMON GOOD," is sponsored by Faith Action for Community Equity, a local inter-faith organization fostering social justice. Curtis is president and chief executive officer of the private Eisenhower Foundation, which supports a number of programs in Hawai'i and is dedicated to the causes of social justice and reducing inequality. Faux is founder and former president of the Economic Policy Institute, which provides high-quality research and education to promote a prosperous, fair and sustainable economy.
