TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Winter Olympics" on NBC, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 6-10 p.m., 10:30 p.m.-late night; on USA Network, 9-11:30 a.m.; on CNBC, 9:30 a.m.-noon. Pairs figure skating, which caused a huge fuss in 2002, begins. NBC has a preview in the morning and the short program at night, with analysis after midnight. The finals are Monday. There's also Nordic combined skiing, luge, men's 5,000-meter speed skating (in which Chad Hedrick of Houston is the world champion) and women's freestyle skiing moguls (featuring world champion Hannah Kearney of New Hampshire).

OF NOTE

"The Green Mile" (1999), 7 p.m., ABC. Stephen King's story has been stretched into an epic film. It is set on death row in 1935 Louisiana. The whole thing doesn't quite make a great movie, but the filming is beautiful and the characters are memorable, including a decent jailer (Tom Hanks) and a gifted prisoner (Michael Clarke Duncan).

"Never Been Kissed" (1999), 8 p.m., ABC Family. A quiet 25-year-old copy editor gets a chance to revisit high school, pretending to be a teen for a story she has to write. This tale is weak, but that sometimes doesn't matter because Drew Barrymore is so delightful in the lead. There's a fine supporting cast, with David Arquette as her helpful brother, Leelee Sobieski and Jessica Alba.

"Die Another Day" (2002), 8 p.m., CBS. This James Bond film has a great Bond (Pierce Brosnan), a wonderful supporting cast (led by Halle Berry) and the impressive sight of an ice palace collapsing. Still, the individual moments are better than the total film.

"30 Days," 8 p.m., FX. Reruns of the first three hours of this documentary series, which places people in unfamiliar situations for a month. The first has series creator Morgan Spurlock ("Super Size Me") living on minimum wage with his fiancee. Others involve a quest for anti-aging methods and a conservative Christian living in a Muslim community. There are few jolting moments here, but the episodes will cause you to think and care.
