Hawai'i men's volleyball season tickets now on sale

Season tickets are on sale for the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball season, which begins next month.
Prices for 19 home matches at the Stan sheriff Center are: $265 (premium seats); $120 for adults (upper section); $105 for seniors (65-older) and $50 for students (ages 4-18), UH students, UH Super Rooters and UH Manoa Maniacs. Super Rooter guests are $215 (premium seating).
Tickets are available by calling 944-2697, option 1; at the Stan Sheriff Center ticket office and at www.HawaiiAthletics.com.
The Warriors were 25-5 last season. Top returning players include setter Brian Beckwith, outside hitter Lauri Hakala and middle blocker Dio Dante.
UH opens with exhibition matches against British Columbia Jan. 3 and 5.
The regular-season home opener is Jan. 18 and 19 against Pacific.
BASKETBALL
HPU WOMEN LOSE EIGHTH STRAIGHT, 70-62
Brandi Bounds scored 22 points, and Hanna Hull and Laura Wright each added 10, leading Central Washington to a 70-62 victory over Hawai'i Pacific last night in a women's game at St. Andrew's Priory gym.
The Wildcats (7-1), from Ellensburg, Wash., raced to a 21-7 lead and led 36-20 at halftime.
Ashley Jenkins scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Sea Warriors (0-8).
Shannon Miyashiro added 10 points for HPU.
BOXING
PALOLO'S FINAL AMATEUR CARD OF YEAR TONIGHT
Palolo Boxing Club is holding its final amateur card of the year tonight at 7 at Palolo District Gym.
A total of about 12 bouts are scheduled with boxers from O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island.
Admission is $10 for 12 years old and older, $5 for 11 and under.

KAILUA'S BYRNES LOSES UNANIMOUS DECISION
Logan Clark of Minnesota defeated Kailua's Steve Byrnes by unanimous decision in the UFC Fight Night mixed martial arts event Wednesday at Miramar, Calif.
The middleweight division (185 pounds) bout was on the undercard. The main events of the card were televised nationally on the Spike TV cable station.
Byrnes dropped to 6-1; Clark improved to 8-0.
