Celebrity designer breezes into town

Robin Renzi, designer of the popular New York-based jewelry company, Me & Ro, will make a personal appearance from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Neiman Marcus, designer jewelry, level one.
Renzi's designs were featured on Anne Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada." Her film star fairy godmother is Julia Roberts, who chose to wear her work in "Notting Hill" and "The Mexican."
This weekend, Neiman Marcus will also feature trunk shows of St. John and Giorgio Armani fall collections on Level 2.
CARTIER ON DISPLAY
In a rare appearance outside Paris, esteemed jeweler Cartier has brought a trunk show of precious jewels to its Ala Moana Center boutique. The pieces will be on view for the public through Wednesday. The collection includes vintage and antique jewelry, haute jewelry and jeweled watches.
Among the treasures are three pieces ranging from $100,000 to $2.2 million: a diamond platinum Pagoda brooch made for Cartier in 1927, a platinum sapphire diamond "Panthere" necklace with 11,522 round diamonds (36.42 carats), and a platinum sapphire diamond Sabine ring with one Kashmir cushion sapphire and 78 brilliant-cut diamonds.
MP COLLECTIONS MOVES
Owner Simon Foo has moved his 13-year-old jewelry business, MP Collections, into Ward Centre, across from Rainbowtique. The store offers jewelry made with coral, pearls, and semiprecious and precious stones, as well as watches and cuff links.

HUGO BOSS OPENS
Hugo Boss opened its first Hawai'i store yesterday in the luxury strip at 2124 Kalakaua Ave. in the former Boucheron space. The sophisticated interiors feature rich walnut backdrops with stainless steel and lacquer magnolia shelving.
And Hugo Boss is not just for the boys any more. The women's line is edgy and urban, featuring fall's layered looks. Men and women can do head-to-toe Hugo Boss with clothing, shoes and accessories offered in the two-story store.
REYN'S UH ALOHA SHIRTS
Just in time for University of Hawai'i Warrior football and Rainbow Wahine volleyball, Reyn's has introduced a couple of aloha shirts for fans to flaunt their loyalty.
The lightweight, button-down rayon shirt features the UH logo amid graceful palms on a background of either black or green ($62.50).
Reyn's used their reverse-print technique on Spooner Kloth on a pullover featuring the UH logo on a green or tan background ($77). Both shirts are available at any Reyn's store or at www.reyns.com.
