Honolulu police have charged a Mililani sex assault suspect, said Honolulu Police Department Sgt. Kim Capllonch. At a police briefing yesterday, the coordinator of the CrimeStoppers program said that Anthony Rogers, 23, was charged with first- and third-degree sexual assault against a female juvenile earlier this month.
Rogers was arrested Wednesday. He was charged Friday, and his bail has been set at $50,000, said Capllonch.
Rogers, who is known to residents around the Mililani Shopping Center area where the assault took place, was identified by the victim, Capllonch said. She said Rogers has four prior arrests, although none of those were felonies.
Capllonch said she did not know if there are any known suspects in an earlier sexual assault that occurred in the same area. But she said police would be stepping up patrols there.
