Kai makes U.S. travel roster

Former University of Hawai'i soccer standout Natasha Kai was picked for a two-game trip to Japan with the U.S. national women's team.
The United States plays exhibition games against Japan in Kumamoto on May 7 and Osaka on May 9.
Kai, a three-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, was the first female from Hawai'i named to the U.S. national team when she participated in the Algarve Cup in mid-March in southern Portugal.
The Kahuku High alum suffered a minor head injury in a championship game loss to Germany.
The other forwards on the U.S. roster are Kristine Lilly, Heather O'Reilly, Abby Wambach and Christie Welsh.
