Infant with bone fractures dies

A 2-month-old girl who was brought to a hospital last week with multiple fractures has died, police said.
The girl was admitted to the Kapi'olani Medical Center's emergency room on Wednesday because she was having difficulty breathing. Doctors later told police that the girl had many bone fractures and that she was placed in the pediatric intensive care unit.
The girl died about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The case initially was classified as a first-degree assault, but has been reclassified to an unattended death pending the outcome of an autopsy. No one has been arrested in the case.
TOURISM GROUP NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i is sponsoring a free volunteer training session for people wanting to be Ambassadors of Aloha, Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Board Room of the Hawai'i Convention Center.
Volunteers will be trained on how to deal with visitors who need assistance in times of emergency while visiting O'ahu.
Volunteers who speak Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, German or Spanish are also needed to help out with international visitors.
The mission of the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i is to share aloha with visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities, and to provide follow-up assistance.

MAN KILLED IN FALL FROM CLIFF TO ROAD
Big Island police have identified the man who apparently fell off a cliff above Waipi'o Valley Road Saturday night as Roger Lasko, 61.
Police said Lasko, of Kukuihaele, landed on the roadway and was found face down and unresponsive shortly before 9:24 p.m. Saturday.
Lasko, the owner of a local bed and breakfast, was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he died at 3:18 a.m. Sunday.
Lasko apparently fell 40 to 50 feet from private property above the roadway. His body was found on the road leading down into the valley from the Waipi'o Valley Lookout.
Police said there were no indications of foul play.
MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN CRASH WITH CAR
A 57-year-old Kea'au man died Sunday after he was thrown from his motorcycle in a collision near the Mountain View post office in Upper Puna.
Police said Glen A. League was riding a 1999 Vulcan motorcycle south on Volcano Highway when he rear-ended a 1988 Pontiac two-door sedan that slowed to make a right turn into the post office parking lot shortly before 10:02 a.m.
