ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Meet the hermit crab

Advertiser Staff

spacer spacer

Kids love hermit crabs. It's a fact. If I got 20 bucks for every time my mom took my brother and me to the beach and scolded us for sneaking hermits into the Corolla for the drive home, I'd be at my beachside Kahala mansion mainlining mojitos right now. (Don't worry — mom always drove us back to the beach to set the hermits free.) Take your 4- to 6-year-old to today's Home for a Hermit Crab program at the Waikiki Aquarium. Kids will get to check 'em out up close, learn about 'em and create their own hermit art. It's $12 for each adult-and-child team (nonmembers, $16). From 3 to 4:30 p.m. 923-9741.
