Planning to get married this year? It's not too early to gather ideas at the Hawaii World Class Wedding Expo XVI. This locally produced show offers brides and grooms the chance to book wedding services and check out fashion shows in preparation for their special day. Tickets are $6. COMEDY: APRIL 15

Tax Day, Schmax Day! Hey, April 15 falls on a weekend this year, so you have a little extra time to file. And if you need an extra laugh, there's The Filipino Comedy Jam III. Edwin San Juan and Joey Guila from Los Angeles take the mike, along with local comics Shawn Felipe and, of course, Mel Cabang, above. Lanai from Island 98.5 hosts. FAIR: APRIL 21-22

Iolani School's 15th annual Family Fair — themed "Animation Sensation"— is a two-day festival featuring a silent auction, plants, games, art show, cooking demonstrations, entertainment and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. A free movie will be shown at 7 p.m. — "Madagascar" on the first night, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" the second. Admission is free.

DANCE: APRIL 22

Fly to the moon with San Francisco's Smuin Ballet, which features music by Frank Sinatra and is presented by Ballet Hawaii. The program includes Michael Smuin's "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Dancin' With Gershwin." Tickets are $25, $35 and $45, with $10 discounts for students, seniors and military.

Coming to our rock is the creator of "Welcome to Jamrock," Damian "Junior Gong" Marley, below. The youngest of the famed Marley clan and a recent Grammy Award winner for Best Reggae Album, Marley's classic reggae style, fused with hip-hop, R&B and dancehall, brings nonstop action to the stage and the dance floor. SoCal band Slightly Stoopid, whose hit list includes "Everything You Need" and "Closer to the Sun," rides that punk/pop wave back to Hawai'i (its last Honolulu concert was in August). Tickets are $17.

FESTIVAL: APRIL 28-29

A bit of New Zealand culture comes to the North Shore via the 7th annual Whakataetae Maori Song and Dance Competition. Groups from Hawai'i and Utah compete in traditional music and dance, and there'll be performances by last year's junior and senior division winners. Admission to the first night — with a gathering of participants, speech competition, Maori costume fashion show and entertainment — is free. Admission to the song and dance competition the next day is $8 general, $6 ages 3-11, and free for annual pass holders.

The always-anticipated local Lei Day favorite is just around the corner. The Brothers Cazimero will soon present their 29th annual May Day Concert, right. Roland and Robert Cazimero, left, will be joined by Halau Na Kamalei and the women of the Royal Dance Company. Expect music, dance and aloha to grace the stage, along with a few surprises.
