Advertiser Staff and News Services
Hawai'i's wholesale gasoline price cap could jump about 14 cents a gallon next week, according to Advertiser calculations. The cap is set weekly based on wholesale prices during a five-day period in three Mainland markets. After the first four days of market data the cap was poised to rise to $2.312 a gallon for regular on O'ahu on Monday, up from this week's cap of $2.177. The cap doesn't include taxes or dealer markup.
The cap would be nearly 17 cents a gallon lower if a proposed amendment to the state's price cap law were in effect next week.
