TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Survivor: Guatemala," 7 p.m., CBS. The bad news is that this is one of the harsher environments for a "Survivor." The harshest spots have tended to make dull TV.
The good news is that the show has permission to use spectacular Mayan ruins as backdrops. It also has a sort of secret celebrity.
Other contestants aren't told that the Gary who's in real estate is Gary Hogeboom, who was a pro quarterback. He spent a decade in the NFL, mostly backing up but sometimes starting for the Dallas Cowboys in 1984-85.
"The O.C.," 7 p.m., Fox. Last week's season opener had some powerful moments. Marissa's mom browbeat Trey into saying it was his brother, Ryan, who shot him. Only some quick moves by Sandy and Marissa kept Ryan from returning to jail.
Now Trey has left town and life returns to normal — except that the cozy high school doesn't like trouble. Some parents want Ryan and Marissa expelled.
OF NOTE
"Joey," 7 p.m., NBC. Here's a rerun of the season finale, which took a key step in the relationship between Joey and his sweet-faced landlord. Meanwhile, Joey's agent is obsessed with Joey's nephew.
"Jamaica: The Ultimate Tour," 7 and 10 p.m., Travel Channel. Jamaica's prime minister takes viewers on a tour of the Caribbean nation.
"The Showbiz Show," 7:30 p.m., Comedy Central. David Spade plans a fake entertainment show, taped close to airtime. Sight unseen, it sounds promising.
"Reunion," 8 p.m., Fox. In last week's episode, Will (Will Estes) — as a favor to his troubled friend Craig — took the blame for an auto accident. To everyone's surprise, he was sentenced to jail. Tonight, he learns something from a former cellmate. Meanwhile, Samantha and Carla return from London.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. With time running out, the CSI folks try to find a colleague who has been buried alive.
"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. In the season finale, the focus shifts to Ray, who has a solid, blue-collar persona. Many of his friends don't know he's a doctor; then a party leads to a spectacular accident.
