LECTURE

DEEP ON THE CORAL REEFS

Fishing for something to feed the brain? Bishop Museum continues its Traditions of the Pacific series tonight with Richard Pyle's lecture on biodiversity of deep coral reefs. His explorations have taken him to some of the world's best deep reefs, off Palau, Papua New Guinea, American Samoa and the South Cook Islands. Poni Kamauu will share a "Moon Chant" describing how phases of the moon affect fish, and will share fishing stories passed down for generations. That's at 6 p.m. at the Atherton Halau; $5 (free to museum members); information: 847-8296 or www .bishopmuseum.org.
