Lee meets Castillo Jr. in golf match play final

Regan Lee and 2002 champion Ron Castillo Jr. will play in this morning's final of the 2005 Turtle Bay Golf Match Play Championship. The final begins at 7 a.m. at the resort's Arnold Palmer Course.
Yesterday Lee, from Pearl Country Club, defeated John Lynch in one semifinal, 5 and 4. Castillo, of Kiahuna, got by Kevin Carll, 1-up.
In the morning quarterfinals, Lynch ousted defending champion Brian Sasada, 6 and 4, while Castillo outlasted Larry Stubblefield, last year's senior champion, 1-up.
Ron Kia'aina, of Makaha Resort, will go for his second senior championship this morning against Dugal Milne, of Makena. Kia'aina defeated Dave Kowalczyk, 4 and 3, in one semifinal, while Milne beat Harold Perry, 2-up.
This is the Aloha Section PGA's third major championship of the 2005 season. It has an $8,500 purse.
SURFING
MERLE-JONES TRIUMPHS
Kaua'i's Jesse Merle-Jones won the WRV Outerbanks Pro men's professional surfing contest Sunday.
The final day of the contest was held in 2- to 3-foot waves at Nags Head, N.C.
Merle-Jones had a two-wave total of 13.15 to defeat three Florida surfers in the four-man final. He received $5,000 for the victory.
The contest was part of surfing's World Qualifying Series.

UH SEEKS PLAYERS
The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team is seeking players for the upcoming season.
Prospective student-athletes must be enrolled at UH for the fall semester. Anyone interested should call the women's tennis office (956-3655) today.

TANTALUS RUN SUNDAY
The Mid-Pacific Road Runners' Tantalus 10-Mile run will be held Sunday, starting at 6:30 a.m. at Makiki Heights Road.
The club's Niketown 30K will be held Oct. 16, starting at 5 a.m. in Kapi'olani Park.
