A&B, partner sell building

A partnership involving Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin Inc. has sold a suburban California office building for $20.8 million.
A&B and an affiliate of California-based Intertex Construction Co. sold Westridge Executive Plaza, a 64,300-square-foot building in Valencia, Los Angeles County, to a group of small investors.
The project, developed in 2003 for $12.3 million, was A&B's second development outside Hawai'i. A&B remains affiliated with Intertex in four other property investments in Valencia.
HAWAIIAN OFFERS HOTEL CHECK-IN
Hawaiian Airlines passengers can now check in for flights at four Outrigger and Ohana hotels in Waikiki before leaving for the airport.
Hawaiian's "Hele On" self-service kiosks allow travelers to check in luggage, print out boarding passes, change their flights or seat locations and upgrade to first class if available. Fees for excess or overweight baggage also are handled online.
The kiosks are at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, Outrigger Reef on the Beach, Ohana East and the Ohana Maile Sky Court. For Web check-in passengers, scanning boarding passes and dropping off luggage at Honolulu International Airport will take a minute or less, Hawaiian said.
DEEP SEA WATER PICKS SAKAMOTO
Deep Sea Water International Inc., producers of Kona Deep, has named Jeffrey H. Sakamoto chief financial officer for the Big Island-based company.
DSWI draws ocean water from 3,000 feet off the Kona Coast, desalinates it and bottles it as drinking water said to be rich in nutrients.
Sakamoto most recently worked as vice president of finance and administration, and chief financial officer, for Kona-based Cyanotech Corp., a producer of natural products from microalgae.
AIR CANADA PLANS NEW KONA FLIGHT
Air Canada on Saturday will begin nonstop weekly flights from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Kona.
The Air Canada Boeing 767 flight will add 3,264 seats to the Big Island inventory through the first quarter of 2006. Air Canada's Flight 49 is scheduled to arrive in Kona at 10:15 p.m. and returns to Vancouver with a scheduled 11:30 p.m. departure.
