Sunset on the Beach returns to Queen's Surf Beach in Waikiki this weekend with food booths, entertainment and a preview of the much-anticipated fantasy film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe."
The preview is a supertrailer of nearly 10 minutes of "Narnia" footage not yet seen in Hawai'i. The movie, based on the series of books by C.S. Lewis, opens nationwide Dec. 9 and is expected to be a holiday blockbuster.
Tonight's Sunset movie is the hit "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," the third film in the series based on the books about a young wizard and his pals. Of course, the current film, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," is burning up the box office at theaters nationwide.
Tomorrow's movie is the holiday comedy "Elf," starring Will Ferrell as Buddy, the human who was raised as an elf and now needs to find his place in the world.
Food booths open at 3 p.m., entertainment begins at 4 p.m.; the films hit the screen after the sun goes down. The "Narnia" trailer will be screened before each film.
Admission to Sunset on the Beach festivals is free. 923-1094.
