KS-Maui holds off Kaua'i, 14-7

Robert John Kukahiko caught a 5-yard pass from Keahi Raikes for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter and Kamehameha-Maui beat Kaua'i in a first-round game of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Division II State Football Championships at Hanapepe Ballpark last night.

Kamehameha-Maui (6-6), of the Maui Interscholastic League, will play O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion Radford in the semifinal round Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Radford High School. Kaua'i of the Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation finishes (5-1-1)

Raikes completed passes to seven different receivers and finished 13 of 18 for 133 yards and one interception.

Kaua'i took a lead on Pono Matthews' 3-yard run in the second quarter. Mokihana Silva tied the game on a 9-yard run in the third quarter for the Warriors.
