Woman says she shot at man

Advertiser Staff

Police arrested a 30-year-old woman Tuesday after she told police she shot at an ex-boyfriend who was following her in Pearl City.

At 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, a 34-year-old man told police he was following his ex-girlfriend around in a car in Pearl City when she pulled over. Her "new boyfriend" got out of the car, pulled out a handgun, and shot at the 34-year-old, police said. He wasn't hit, but police said his car sustained minor damage.

Officers arriving at the Waimalu Safeway said the woman told a different story.

The woman told police she fired the shots. Police arrested her on suspicion of attempted murder.

T-SHIRT RETURNS LEAD TO ARREST

A man trying to return T-shirts that allegedly had been stolen was arrested Tuesday in Hale'iwa.

The man walked into a clothing store and tried to return several T-shirts. While the man haggled with a cashier, the store's owner — who was aware the shirts may have been taken in a burglary — called police.
