Reggae night at Pipeline Cafe
Advertiser Staff and News Services
What would the final week of the year in Honolulu be like without a reggae show? Apparently, we won't have to find out, with Pipeline Cafe giving up tonight to "Reggae Hits the Pipe."
Ooklah the Moc will offer all the live consciousness you can handle, matched by turntablists from top local reggae sound systems King Black Super Power (DJs Konchus, Papa Smee, Scotch Bonnet) and Pacific Sounds Outernational (DJs Liloa, Dunza, Mr. Bone).
If you're 18 or older, you're welcome, yo. Doors open at 9 p.m.; pre-sale tickets $10 at Pipeline Cafe and Jelly's 'Aiea. Charge at www.presaleticketsonline.com, or 926-3000.

CHAMPAGNE WISHES AND CAVIAR ENVY FLY COACH
Ever wonder what they're eating in first class? Inspect their plates at www.AirlineMeals.net, a Web site devoted to airline food.
Passengers send in shots of meals and site founder Marco Hart, of the Netherlands, posts them. Scroll through hundreds of airlines — including Uzbekistan Airways — to see real plane grub. (You can even check out crew meals.)
More than 200 photos are submitted to the site every month. Snazziest place settings: Leisure class on Singapore Airlines. Most luxe: plateful of Iranian caviar in Emirates Air first class. What I learned: Just about everything on Iceland Air is served cold. Go figure.

FINAL WORD
"I write about myself and how I feel about things, and then I get a bunch of people to sit in the dark while I stand in the light, and they quietly listen. That's gotta be really ego-driven."
