Harmoni macadamia chocolates new from Hawaiian Host
Advertiser Staff
Hawaiian Host has released Hawaiian Host Harmoni, its new line of chocolate-covered macadamias, as part of its premium chocolates collection. The dry-roasted mac nuts harvested on the Big Island are immersed first in smooth dark chocolate and rice crisps, then covered in creamy milk chocolate.
The chocolates come in a 7-ounce box, are individually wrapped in gold foil and cost $15, at stores such as DFS Galleria and Neiman Marcus Hawaii. A 3.5-ounce box costs $5 and is available at Longs Drug Stores, ABC Stores, Food Pantry and Hilo Hattie.

HITTING HAWAI'I'S SWEET SPOTS IN YOUR OWN KITCHEN
Honolulu writer Cheryl Chee Tsutsumi ferreted out the best sweet recipes from restaurants across the state for "101 Great Desserts" (Island Heritage, $12.99). The problem is in choosing which to make first: Is it to be Tiki's Grill & Bar Liliko'i Cheesecake? Kilauea Lodge's Portuguese Bread Pudding? The Prince Court Restaurant's Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pie?
The famous Roy's Po'ipu Bar Apple Volcano makes an appearance, as does Sam Choy's Baked Lemon Tart.
In addition to the recipes and photos, you'll find the best bakeries on every island, tips from award-winning pastry chefs, a list of tools and ingredients and a glossary of baking terms. But the book may be worth getting for the secret to Chef Mavro's liliko'i malasadas alone.
