Mokulele adding two new air routes

Interisland carrier Mokulele Airlines said it plans to add two new routes between Hilo and Kona and Hilo and Maui starting Jan. 15.
The Kona-based airline, which files twin-engine Piper Chieftain aircraft between the Neighbor Islands, also will start a new membership card program which will provide discounts for frequent fliers.
Mokulele said it will charge an introductory, one-way fare of $59.95 on its Hilo-to-Kahului service and an a one-way fare of $19.95 for its Hilo-to-Kona route. The prices do not include taxes and fees.
Mokulele flies between Kona and Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i, as well as circle island tours of the Island of Hawai'i.
SCIENCE & TECH FAIR SET TODAY
The state High Technology Development Corp. will sponsor the Sixth Annual Holiday Science & Tech Fair from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Japanese Cultural Center on South Beretania Street.
More than 15 companies and government agencies will have booths at the event, which is expected to draw hundreds of job seekers, organizers said. Among the firms and agencies participating are the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Hawaiian Electric Co., Booz Allen Hamilton and Quantum Leap Interactive.

MCDONALD'S TO CLOSE KALIA STORE
The McDonald's restaurant on Kalia Road in Waikiki will close Saturday, and its 35 employees will be reassigned to other McDonald's outlets across the island.
The restaurant is owned by McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii and is managed by Tracy Kono.
"We appreciate the many loyal customers who have supported the McDonald's of Kalia over the last 20 years," said Alton Montera, operations manager for McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii.
McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii has 84 restaurants and more than 3,500 employees in Hawai'i, Guam and Saipan.
DHX LAUNCHES SERVICE IN KONA
DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express Inc., one of the largest ocean freight companies serving the state, has started a trucking service in Kona. The company, which operates trucking services on O'ahu and Maui, is using a 10-truck fleet in Kona, a spokesman said.
