The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team returned from Milwaukee, Wis., with more than just a bruised ego.

Three Rainbow Warriors are expected to miss practice time this week because of injuries.

Starting shooting guard Matt Lojeski has a sprained left shoulder, reserve shooting guard Bobby Nash has a sore right shoulder, and reserve point guard Hiram Thompson has a foot injury.

The 'Bows did not practice yesterday, but all three are expected to miss today's practice at least.

"They'll all have to sit out (today), and then we'll see how they are the rest of the week," Hawai'i head coach Riley Wallace said.

Hawai'i (3-2) is preparing for its Western Athletic Conference opener against Utah State (4-2) on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Lojeski sustained his injury in the second half of a 58-52 loss at Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday. It was initially diagnosed as a grade-1 sprain, but was downgraded to a grade-2 sprain yesterday.

"It's a good thing we don't play until Saturday," Wallace said. "And it's his left (non-shooting) side, so that might help. But he's a tough kid. He'll be back."

Lojeski is third on the team in scoring with an average of 13.6 points per game, and leads the team with 13 3-pointers.

Wallace said Nash's injury might be more severe than Lojeski's.

"It's been bothering him the whole year, and I guess it got really bad last week," Wallace said.

Nash, who is usually the first guard off the bench, is averaging 5.8 points per game.

Thompson, a true freshman, has only appeared in one game this season.

Despite the injuries to the three backcourt players, junior guard "Little Matt" Gibson is still on indefinite suspension, according to Wallace. Gibson has been suspended ever since he got into a verbal altercation with the Hawai'i coaches Nov. 25.

"It's two separate situations," Wallace said. "(Gibson's) deal is still ongoing."
