In an historic year for Radford boys volleyball, middle blocker Glen Klaiber especially stood out.

Klaiber, a 6-foot-2 senior, led the Rams to an undefeated regular season (12-0) and their first appearance in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association championship match.

His contributions did not go unnoticed by OIA Western Division coaches, who named him West Player of the Year.

"We had other good players, but the coaches all felt he was our most memorable," Radford coach Damon Reyes said. "He played consistent every single game. He was our middle blocker, but he was versatile and could score points in different ways. He was the guy we could always count on to get the side out."

Klaiber is joined on the OIA West all-star first team by fellow Rams seniors Anthony Babas and Billy Nihipali.

Other first team selections are Mililani sophomore Matthew Cheape and seniors Michael Ahina and Anson Amaral of Nanakuli, Abe Kauhane of Pearl City and Cameron Moody of Kapolei.

Cheape, a 5-2 sophomore libero, is the only repeat first team selection. Nihipali was a setter; the other six first team players with either hitters or blockers.

Reyes was named Coach of the Year.
