LIHU'E, Kaua'i — The county has launched an addition to its Web site that lets property owners track the progress of building permits through the approval process, and then track the building inspection process as their structures are being put up.
With Click2Gov, property owners and contractors can use building permit numbers and find out whether approvals have been granted, which fees have been paid and which are due.
Once a permit is issued, they can find inspection results and comments from inspectors.
"You can access practically any information you're interested in regarding your permit status," said county systems analyst David Murray.
The site also includes flood insurance rate maps, engineering forms and basic information on how to start the permitting process, how to be an owner-builder, and information on preparing permit applications and associated documents.
