Visitor industry launches new marketing effort
The Hawaiçi Visitors and Convention Bureau and industry partners teamed up again to try to boost the state’s top business of tourism.
Organizers say the angle this week is a first: Hawai‘i’s tourism industry, group sales professionals
representing resorts, hotels and travel companies statewide banding together to launch a coordinated telephone sales campaign to bring new meetings business to Hawai‘i.
The “Hawai‘i Prospect Sales Blitz” began on Kaua‘i on Tuesday and continues on other islands
this week.
“We have created a list of nearly 10,000 potential clients and our goal is to contact each
one and sell them on the benefits and competitive advantages of booking Hawai‘i for business
meetings,” said Michael Murray, HVCB’s vice president of sales and marketing for corporate meetings and incentives.
Sales professionals from 50 industry partner companies are taking part.
