Late last night, Honolulu firefighters were on their way to the scene of an apparent crash and vehicle fire in M�kua that resulted in one death.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at 81-601 Farrington Highway near Yokohama Bay, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Earle Kealoha said.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene.

The Honolulu Police Department's traffic accident Web site identified the incident as a collision, although no details were available.
