A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon in connection with the stabbing of another man in Kapiolani Park.
Kevin K. Fish, who gave police no local address, was booked on one count of second-degree attempted murder, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in police custody tonight pending charges.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was in critical condition tonight at The Queen’s Medical Center.
Police said the victim was stabbed at about 4:45 p.m. near the bandstand in the park. The man suffered a large laceration to the left side of his neck, police said.
Paramedics treated and stabilized the man before transporting him to the hospital, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.
Soon after the incident, police issued an all-points-bulletin for the suspect and police arrested Fish about 10 minutes later near the Waikiki Shell.
