SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Chargers have signed center Dennis Norman two days after starter Nick Hardwick sprained his ankle in a close victory at Oakland.
Norman was waived by Jacksonville on Sept. 8, the same day the Jaguars signed guard Kynan Forney, who had been waived by the Chargers.
While Norman was at practice, several Chargers missed the portion that was open to the media, including Hardwick, rookie right guard Louis Vasquez (knee), left tackle Marcus McNeill (ankle), running back LaDainian Tomlinson (ankle) and defensive tackle Jamal Williams (elbow).
Defensive end Luis Castillo, who hurt an elbow Monday night, was at practice.
The Chargers play their home opener Sunday against Baltimore.
