High surf advisory issued
A High Surf Advisory is in effect for all east-facing shores, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.
A north northeast swell combined with trade winds have generated rough and choppy surf for most Hawaiian Islands.
Wave heights will increase to six to eight feet this morning and continue through Saturday night, the weather service said.
A High Surf Advisory means that large breaking waves and dangerous rip currents will affect beaches in the advisory areas.
