Kalihi-based fashion designer Nake�u Awai has created his own Christmas shirt, featuring silk-screened male hula dancers over a design of evergreen trees with silvered glitz turned upside down.
You can find the shirts at his studio, 1613 Houghtailing St., or his annual holiday musical event.
Awai�s popular holiday revue is set for Dec. 5, at the Koolau Ballroom, (Ko�olau Golf Clubhouse, 45-550 Kionaole Road, K�ne�ohe). The show, �I�ll Buy You a Star,� is inspired by the song from �A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.� A marketplace opens at at 9:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:15 a.m. and a show at 12:15 p.m.
