NFL: Eagles CB Hanson suspended for banned substance
Associated Press
PHILADELPHIA The NFL has suspended Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson four games for violating the leagues ban on performance enhancing substances.
The league announced Hansons suspension Wednesday. He will be eligible to return for Philadelphias Dec. 13 game against the New York Giants.
Hansons attorney, David Cornwell, says his client was suspended after testing positive for a diuretic before last years NFC Championship Game against Arizona.
Cornwell says Hanson felt bloated after eating and took a pill that turned out to be a diuretic.
Cornwell says Hanson appealed but was notified on Tuesday that his suspension will stand.
Hanson has 29 tackles and one interception this season.
