MLB: Mets 1B Delgado will undergo surgery on right hip

LOS ANGELES � New York Mets slugger Carlos Delgado needs surgery on his right hip, and there�s no immediate word on when he might return to the lineup.
The Mets announced Monday that Delgado has a bone spur and a torn labrum in his hip.
Delgado was put on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. The first baseman is hitting .298 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in 26 games.
