Police recover two weapons stolen from officer's car
Honolulu police have recovered the two guns that were stolen from an officer's vehicle earlier this month in Kailua.
Based on tips, police recovered the officer's handgun and rifle in Kailua Monday morning. Police did not say where the weapons were discovered, or whether the guns were loaded.
No arrests were made and the investigation remains open.
The officer's car was broken into while it was in a parking garage on Aulike Street in Kailua June 5. The officer's weapons, identification card and gun holster were taken.
Police yesterday said the I.D. card and holster have yet to be recovered.
On June 8, police arrested a 38-year-old man after he led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle. At the time, the man was described as a suspect in the June 5 break-in, but police yesterday said the man is not linked to the incident.
