Breezy winds, a few showers expected today

Fresh to locally strong trades continue across the main Hawaiian islands bringing showery conditions to windward and mountain locations, the National Weather Service said.
The windward side of the Big Island has had persistent showers over night and some locations around Hilo have measured 1 to 1.5 inches in the past 12 hours, forecasters said.
Elsewhere across the island chain scattered light rainfall amounts have been reported on windward Maui and Oahu. Kauai has been dry so far with limited cloud cover. An additional area of clouds just upstream of the islands will likely bring another round of showers to windward and mountains locations with a few showers blowing over to the leeward side during the morning hours.
