New Kalama Park walkway undergoes blessing tomorrow
The county Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a blessing of the newly constructed pedestrian path at Kalama Park at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
The mile-long, six-foot-wide path provides increased access to park facilities for the disabled and families with strollers. The project cost $516,565. David P. Ting & Sons was the contractor, and PBR Hawaii Inc. served as a consultant.
The next phase of the project, which includes installation of solar-powered lighting along the south side of the park, is expected to start in September.
