Tennis: Roddick loses to Monfils in 4th round of French

Associated Press

PARIS — Andy Roddick’s longest run at the French Open has ended with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 loss to Gael Monfils of France in the fourth round.

The sixth-seeded Roddick was the last U.S. man left in the tournament. He was outplayed pretty much throughout by the 11th-seeded Monfils.
Monday’s match was the last of the day on Court Suzanne Lenglen, and Roddick began complaining to chair umpire Enric Molina in the second set that it was too dark to play.
Monfils moves on to face Roger Federer in a rematch from last year’s French Open semifinals. Federer won that match, then lost in the final for the third year in a row.
